It spans a total area of 440,831.4 mi\u00b2 and has coasts on the Pacific and Atlantic.<\/p>\n<p>The Colombian economy is currently experiencing a shock to its terms of trade due to declining energy commodity prices. This shock has negatively impacted national income, exports and, in the immediate term, public finances.<\/p>\n<p>The country\u2019s main engine of growth is the construction sector. Its main exports are concentrated in the mining sector, and its main imports in the industrial sector. <br \/>Colombia ranks second in Latin America in poverty reduction and second amongst the 48 countries worldwide that have most reduced their Gini index.<\/p>\n<p>The Colombian economy is characterised by a free-market orientation and economic openness. To this end, 98.6% of Columbia\u2019s tariff universe is subject to a \u2018free\u2019 import regime, whilst the rest requires licences or is prohibited.<\/p>\n<p>In this session, H.E.
