It maintains&nbsp;<strong>diplomatic relations with<\/strong>&nbsp;a total of&nbsp;<strong>157 countries<\/strong>, only two of which (Egypt and Jordan) are Arab. Officially, it remains&nbsp;<strong>at war with Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and other Arab states<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 12pt;\">The&nbsp;<strong>United States and Israel<\/strong>&nbsp;have maintained a&nbsp;<strong>special bilateral relationship<\/strong>&nbsp;from the moment of its proclamation as a Jewish state in 1948. The relationship is especially close in the areas of defence, security, technology, finance and economic exchanges.<\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 12pt;\"><strong>Exports<\/strong>&nbsp;account for around&nbsp;<strong>40% of Israel\u2019s GDP<\/strong>&nbsp;and external demand is essential to growth. The United States and the European Union are the country\u2019s two largest trading partners.<\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 12pt;\">Likewise, the&nbsp;<strong>European Union<\/strong>&nbsp;accounts for&nbsp;<strong>34%<\/strong>&nbsp;of&nbsp;<strong>imports<\/strong>, and the&nbsp;<strong>United States<\/strong>&nbsp;for&nbsp;<strong>11%<\/strong>. By country, the United States ranks first, followed by China, Germany and Switzerland.<\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 12pt;\">At this session, H.E.
