PRESENTATION:

This edition of the Course on Current Issues in Spanish Foreign Policy will review, from a dual practical and academic perspective, the different dimensions of current Spanish foreign policy, bearing in mind that the decentralised structure of the Spanish state encourages external action by those regions, or autonomous communities, with an international orientation.

Following an inaugural conference, the course has a dynamic structure based on roundtable discussions open to participation by academics, diplomats and journalists, as well as the audience in general.

Spanish foreign policy will be analysed from both a geographical perspective (Europe, the Mediterranean, Latin America and Middle East) and a sectorial one (economic relations, development cooperation and security), without ever losing sight of the status of current policy or the general guidelines that will shape the country’s foreign agenda in the coming years.

The Faculty of Law of the University of Barcelona awards ECTS credits for this course. The course is accredited with a diploma, offered by CEI and the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.

Who is it for?

Professionals and anyone else interested in learning about the current status of Spanish foreign policy from a regional, multilateral and sectoral perspective.
