At this session, the former president of Chile, Ricardo Lagos, will present his book Mi vida. De la infancia a la lucha contra la dictadura.The philosopher, journalist and writer Josep Ramoneda will present the event.
Born in 1938, Lagos is a lawyer and economist who was President of Chile from 2000 to 2006. He also served as Minister of Education and Public Works in various governments. He has been president of the Club of Madrid and, in 2007, was named a UN Special Envoy on ClimateChange.
Mi vida. De la infancia a la lucha contra la dictadura(Penguin Random House) is a first-person account of the first 50 years (from childhood to the end of the military regime) of the life of one of the leading figures in contemporary Chilean history; a memoire that blends the thrill of politics and progressive ideas with family life and the influence of travel, books, music and culture.
