Work-related visits by students of European and International Economic Relations
Students specialising in European and International Economic Relations on the Master’s Degree in Diplomacy and International Organisations (an official degree programme at the University of Barcelona) have undertaken two work-related visits outside the classroom with the aim of gaining first-hand insight into the work of various institutions linked to their potential career paths.
The first visit took place at the offices of the European Commission and the European Parliament in Barcelona. During the meeting, representatives from the communications department explained the role these two institutions play in the functioning and decision-making of the European Union, as well as the career opportunities they offer for those specialising in diplomacy.

Meanwhile, the second visit took place at the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, where representatives from the internationalisation department presented the institution’s main areas of activity, explaining the differences between its various departments and the specific functions carried out by each. Furthermore, the subsequent discussion with the students allowed them to clarify doubts about the chamber system and gain a more detailed understanding of the career opportunities linked to this environment.

These opportunities provide the perfect chance for our students to apply over the coming months and be considered for a placement as part of their Master’s degree programme at these institutions.
