Closing Ceremony of CEI Master’s Programs 2025/2026

15 Jun 2026

On Friday, June 12, we held the graduation ceremony for the 2025/2026 Master’s Programs, a well-established event in the academic calendar that marks the end of a year filled with shared experiences and both personal and professional growth.

Tree planting, a meaningful tradition

As is tradition at CEI, on graduation day the cohorts of the “Master’s Degree in Diplomacy and International Organizations” and the “Master in Sustainability. Environment, Society and Economy” take part in planting a tree in the center’s gardens. This symbolic gesture represents collective growth and the lasting legacy of each cohort.

On this occasion, the tree chosen by the students was Citrus aurantium (bitter orange tree), a symbol of purity, fertility, and good fortune. Each student had the opportunity to actively participate in its planting, contributing to this shared memory.

A very special event for our students

The opening lecture was delivered by CEI’s Executive Director, Ms. Laura Mas, who thanked all attendees for their presence and highlighted the students’ effort throughout the academic year.

This was followed by the institutional lecture delivered by the Hon. Mr. Jaume Duch, Minister for European Union and External Action of the Government of Catalonia, who emphasized CEI’s role as a benchmark institution in the field of international relations and highlighted the growing collaboration between the Government of Catalonia and CEI.

Later on, the coordinators of both master’s programs, Adrià Reyes and Ana García Juanatey, congratulated the students on their work throughout the year, highlighting the achievements reached and the challenges overcome during these months of training. In addition, the class representatives also shared words of gratitude, highlighting the strong sense of cohesion within the cohort.

The closing lecture was delivered by Dr. Conxita Amat, Vice-Rector for Academic Policy at the University of Barcelona.

The beginning of a new stage

Following this celebration, students now begin their curricular internship period, a key step in their professional development. At CEI, we are proud of their work and we continue to support them as they take the next step in their journey.
