Yesterday we welcomed the 45th edition of the Course on the European Union, which will take place during the months of September and October in both on-site and online formats, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation and the Hablamos de Europa portal.
The course aims to consolidate itself as a space for reflection, debate, and analysis on the present and future of the European Union, addressing topics ranging from its institutions to major global challenges.
The inaugural session featured the participation of the Director General of the CEI, Mr. Joaquim Llimona, and the Ambassador and Director of the Course, Mr. Senén Florensa, who officially opened this new edition.
This was followed by the Secretary General for the European Union, Mr. Carlos Moreno, who delivered the inaugural lecture titled: “Spain’s Current Role in the European Union, on the 40th Anniversary of its Accession to the European Economic Community”.
The event concluded with the intervention of the Counselor for the European Union and External Action of the Government of Catalonia, Mr. Jaume Duch Guillot, who highlighted the role of the CEI as a reference center for understanding international affairs with a critical perspective.
With the on-site sessions fully booked and more than 90 students enrolled online, in the coming weeks participants will focus on the functioning of the different European institutions, the future challenges of European integration, and the green and digital transitions, among many other topics.
