International Classroom with the Minister for the European Union and Foreign Action

30 Oct 2025

This Wednesday, the Minister for the European Union and Foreign Action, Hon. Mr. Jaume Duch, participated in a new session of the CEI International Affairs International Classroom, an initiative conceived as a space for debate and reflection on the main political and economic challenges in the global context. The session focused on Catalonia’s role in its internationalization process and on the importance of public-private cooperation to advance this goal.

During the meeting, which was also attended by CEI Executive Club, Minister Duch emphasized the importance of competitiveness and economic projection in strengthening Catalonia’s international presence.

In a prior interview with the CEI, Duch also highlighted the crucial role the CEI plays in this area:

“CEI is an important tool for Catalonia’s international projection. Both in training the new generations who will contribute to maintaining international relations, and in the presence of Catalans in international institutions or the diplomatic corps. As the Government of Catalonia, we must contribute to this.”

In this context, the Government of Catalonia, through the Department for the European Union and Foreign Action, will become a new patron of CEI International Affairs. According to Duch, this agreement will allow the CEI to “help complete the circle of institutions that provide knowledge, ideas, and tools to understand the new world we live in, as well as to better define our priorities as a government.”

The International Classroom session offered, ultimately, a clear vision of the government’s internationalization priorities and highlighted the need to continue strengthening collaboration between public and private actors to successfully address global challenges.
