Students of the University-specific master’s degree in sustainability. Environment, society and economy
(University of Barcelona) had the opportunity to visit ApocaPoc BCN, a company that designs and offers sustainable spaces in Barcelona with the aim of promoting a more environmentally friendly lifestyle and professional activity.
First, thanks to a talk by Evelien Moriau, founder of Ostras, the students learned about this platform, which aims to become a “navigator” for responsible consumption. Ostras connects real-time consumption data, builds a community of users who receive rewards for saving food, and proposes a new B2C/B2B model that turns sustainability into a scalable business.
After Evelien’s talk, the students were able to take part in an interactive game to learn more about the application. At the end of the activity, they also had the opportunity to visit Apocapoc’s facilities.

Next, Sarah Collmus, director of the NGO WindPath, presented this initiative aimed at students interested in offshore wind energy. WindPath’s goal is to provide the information, skills, and professional networks necessary to access the first job opportunities in this sector. To do so, it analyses each student’s objectives, identifies the most suitable career paths, and offers strategies for finding and connecting with professionals in the field.
Taken together, these are two inspiring projects that allow students to gain firsthand insight into initiatives linked to the circular economy and the sustainable transition, helping them align their academic and professional interests with the sector’s current challenges.
