Didac Amat, CEI Research Director, New Doctor cum laude
On Monday, February 2, at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Didac Amat, professor and research director at CEI, defended his doctoral thesis titled:“The International Climate Change Mitigation Regime: Setting the Standard of Due Diligence to Achieve the 1.5ºC Goal”, under the supervision of Dr. Ángel J. Rodrigo.
The examination committee, composed of Sergio Salinas (University of Zaragoza), Teresa Fajardo (University of Granada), and Nicolás Perrone (University of Valparaíso), awarded him the cum laude distinction in recognition of the excellence of his work.

Didac Amat is a jurist and political scientist, specializing in climate change, sustainability, global governance, and International Law, and combines his academic work with the research direction at CEI International Affairs. In recent years, he has conducted research stays at the University of Cambridge (2025) and the University of Pretoria (2023), working with Dr. Dire Tladi, current judge of the International Court of Justice. He has also completed other academic and professional stays in Hong Kong, Greece, and Peru.
