Students from the Master’s Degree in Sustainability take part in a session at IEMed on climate adaptation
CEI, in collaboration with the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), organised a session for students of the University-specific master’s degree in sustainability. Environment, society and economy, with the aim of addressing the implications of human rights in climate governance, as well as the role of societies in adapting to the impacts of global warming.
The activity featured Michiel Hoornick, researcher in International Law at the Geneva Graduate Institute, and was moderated by Didac Amat i Puigsech, PhD in International Law and Research Director at CEI.



During the conference, the challenges of adapting to climate change and the effects of global warming on human rights were analysed, highlighting the increasingly important role of international legal frameworks in the design and implementation of climate policies.
This initiative, organised as part of the “Aula Mediterrània” lecture series, reinforces CEI’s commitment to interdisciplinary education aimed at fostering critical thinking among students and equipping them with the tools to tackle the social, legal and environmental challenges arising from the climate crisis.
