Students participate as international observers in a tactical exercise

On March 18, 19, and 20, students from the Human Security specialization of the Master’s Degree in Diplomacy and International Organizations (official degree from the University of Barcelona) traveled to Sant Climent Sescebes, specifically to the Acuartelamiento General Álvarez de Castro, to take part in a tactical exercise organized jointly with the Spanish Army.

Over three days, the students participated in a simulated armed conflict, assuming the role of United Nations observers in the field.

The main task of each participant was to analyze the situation from the perspective of International Humanitarian Law, assessing military operations, civilian protection, and potential violations of international law.

This highly enriching experience allowed each student to participate firsthand and gain a practical understanding of how operations are conducted in real conflict settings.
