Yesterday, CEI inaugurated the 2025–2026 academic year with a new session of its exclusive programme for Executive Club members, conceived as a forum for debate and reflection on international political and economic issues alongside representatives from different countries.
On this occasion, we had the honour of welcoming the Spanish Ambassador to India, Mr. Juan Antonio March Pujol, in a session introduced by CEI’s Director, Joaquim Llimona.
During the meeting, key aspects of bilateral relations between Spain and India were discussed, as well as global challenges and opportunities in which the Asian country is playing an increasingly prominent role. The main topics included:
Progress on the India–EU free trade agreement, scheduled for December 2025, which aims to consolidate a stable framework for businesses.
India’s position in the face of the rise of the US and China as superpowers, and its role on the global geopolitical stage.
Cultural relations between Spain and India, with examples such as the exhibition of Catalan painter Joan Miró in New Delhi, and the growing interest in innovation and technology initiatives, such as the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit, held in February and co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and Narendra Modi.
The session concluded with a breakfast that allowed the exchange of ideas to continue in a more informal setting.
This debate reaffirms the role of the International Classroom as a meeting point for a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities of the global world.
