CEI International Affairs, in collaboration with Fundación “la Caixa”, is offering, for the second consecutive year, a scholarship programme that covers 100% of the tuition fees of the Master’s Degree in Diplomacy and International Organizations (including pre-enrolment and the fees of the Universitat de Barcelona).

Likewise, a second call for internship scholarships will be launched, aimed at students who are recipients of the tuition scholarship, for the completion of internships abroad.

The objective of the “Fundación ‘la Caixa’ – Centre d’Estudis Internacionals” scholarship programme is to promote academic excellence and equal opportunities to access our postgraduate studies and to undertake the compulsory curricular internships abroad.

The tuition scholarships are aimed at applicants who meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a university degree in Law, Economics and Business, International Relations, Political and Administrative Sciences, International Business, Global Studies, Global Governance or similar fields, obtained within the three years prior to the publication of the call, or be currently enrolled in the final academic year of the degree programme and commit to completing the degree before 31 July 2026.

  • Not be currently studying nor have obtained a master’s-level equivalent qualification at the time of scholarship application, and have no intention of pursuing another master’s-level qualification simultaneously with the programme at CEI International Affairs.

  • Be admitted candidates to the Master’s Degree in Diplomacy and International Organizations.

  • Provide proof of continuous residence in Spain for at least the two years immediately prior to the scholarship application.

  • Have obtained the general state scholarship for university studies (GRAL) from the Spanish Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports during the last year of the bachelor’s degree or, alternatively, not exceed the family income and asset thresholds established in section 5.1 of this call, which must be demonstrated by submitting the most recent family income tax return of the members of the same household living together.

On the other hand, internship scholarships are reserved exclusively for recipients of the tuition scholarship.

Documentation that must be submitted to apply for a tuition scholarship:

  • Certified copy or verification code of the university degree certificate (if the university degree has not been completed, the degree application receipt may be submitted until 31 July 2026).

  • Academic transcript of the university degree including the grades of all subjects and the final average grade if the degree has already been completed, or the academic transcript with the grades obtained up to the time of scholarship application if the degree is still in progress. In such cases, CEI International Affairs may request the official final transcript once it is completed. If the university degree is not obtained by July 2026, the scholarship must be waived.

  • Curriculum vitae (CV).

  • Other accredited academic merits.

  • Registration certificate proving the last two years of residence in Spain. If this certificate is not available, one of the following documents may be submitted as proof of residence: housing or rental contract, official certificate of enrolment in face-to-face studies, or employment contract.

  • Final decision of the general scholarship for university studies (GRAL) from the Spanish Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports corresponding to the last year of the bachelor’s degree.

  • If the applicant has not obtained the GRAL scholarship, eligibility may be demonstrated by submitting the most recent family income tax return of the members of the same household who live together, provided that the following income and asset thresholds are not exceeded: €14,818 (1 person), €25,293 (2 persons), €34,332 (3 persons), €40,773 (4 persons), €45,572 (5 persons), €49,196 (6 persons), €52,780 (7 persons), and €56,348 (8 persons).
  • Signed declaration stating that the applicant is not currently studying or has not obtained a master’s-level equivalent qualification and does not plan to pursue another master’s-level programme simultaneously with the master’s degree at the Centre.

  • Signed declaration stating that no scholarship covering the same purpose for the same academic period has been obtained and that, if another such scholarship is awarded during the master’s programme, the applicant will notify Centre d’Estudis Internacionals and renounce one of the scholarships.

  • Signed declaration confirming that the information provided is true and accurate.

Period: From 2 March to 25 June 2026 at 23:59 h.

The call for internship scholarships is expected to open during the academic phase (2026–2027 academic year) of the master’s programme.
