Col·loqui “Economia, història i futur de l’Àsia Oriental”

On April 28, the CEI hosted a session organized in collaboration with Ágora Diplomática under the title “Economy, History and Future of East Asia”. The event provided an in-depth analysis of the evolution, current state, and prospects of one of the most dynamic regions in the world.

The colloquium featured Oriol Junqueras, PhD in History and Economics, and Amadeu Jensana, Director of the Department of Economy and Business at Casa Asia. Both speakers offered complementary perspectives that enabled a detailed examination of East Asia.

During his intervention, Junqueras emphasized the region’s historical trajectory, analyzing the factors that have shaped its development over the centuries and that largely explain its current role on the global stage. For his part, Jensana focused on emerging economic opportunities, highlighting industrial growth, technological innovation, and the increasing relevance of East Asia in global value chains.

The session was introduced by the president of Ágora Diplomática, Pau Herrera, and the director of CEI, Joaquim Llimona, who underscored the importance of creating spaces for dialogue on the global economy and geopolitics.

The event concluded with a Q&A session in which attendees were able to exchange views with the speakers, further enriching the discussion.
